How does coaching differ from therapy?

Therapists are experts in medical and behavioral sciences trained to treat diagnosable conditions.
Coaches see their client’s brilliance, strengths and areas in need of development and are trained to support the client as they achieve their desired outcome.
Therapists work toward healing, recovery or issue resolution.
Coaches work with clients who want a confidential partner to help them evolve and enhance their lives.
Therapists are required to keep their personal feelings and thoughts removed.
Coaches use personal disclosure as a tool to catalyze and challenge clients.

How does coaching differ from consulting?

Consultants advise clients about how to solve problems.
Coaches guide clients to their own solutions.
Consultants focus on results.
Coaches focus on the whole person.
Consultants are hired to produce a certain outcome.
Coaches are hired to support clients as they achieve a certain goal.
